Apple has large plans for its original programming lineup, expected to debut in 2019. One of the shows that’s being talked about in great detail is the Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon starrer morning show drama based off of “Top of the Morning”, a book by Brian Stelter.
A new report from Variety now mentions that the show’s original showrunner as well as creator, Jay Carson, is departing the series over creative differences.
This has given speculation to news about Kerry Ehrin of ‘Bates Motel’ to take over the reins. Ehrin is also the co-creator and executive producer of Bates Motel, so this appears to be a top level replacement.
Not much is known about this series as of now apart from the fact that it will be based on the rivalry between ABC and NBC’s morning shows.
Apple’s content team is hard at work to churn out the best TV shows and has made some top level hirings over the past several months. While a 2019 timeline is understandable, Apple wouldn’t want to wait too long in the presence of giants like Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, and other providers. The has a wide range of series planned, including a documentary series titled “Home”.
