Many a time, I want to temporarily disable Siri on my iPhone and iPad, especially when I am surrounded by other Apple devices like Apple TV and Apple Watch. Even though the latest versions of iOS activate the intelligent personal assistant only on one of the nearby devices, she does get triggered briefly on all of them before continuing on one. While it works well, you have a better way to keep the assistant quiet.
With this trick, you can turn off Siri on your iOS device without having to dive into the Settings app. Let me show you how it works!

How to Temporarily Disable Siri on iPhone and iPad Without Making Any Changes into Settings
Place your iPhone Face Down
Simply place your iPhone or iPad face down on any surface and the virtual assistant will stop responding to the phrase “Hey Siri.” It’s the easiest way you can turn off the assistant.
This little hack works effectively and I have been using it for long to keep Siri silent when I don’t need it on my iPhone. Besides, it doesn’t require any steps to be taken.
Note: In case this trick doesn’t work on your device ensure that Fitness Tracking is turned on your device;
Step #1. Open Settings → Tap on Privacy.
Step #2. Tap on Motion & Fitness.
Step #3. Turn On the Switch next to Fitness Tracking.
There is Another Equally Simple Trick But It Requires You to Open Settings App…
Enable Low Power Mode
You can also enable Low Power Mode on your device to easily turn off Siri. However, it requires you to jump into Settings app. Hence, this method is not as helpful as the first one. Besides, it will also impact several other things. For instance, it will disable automatic downloads, background app refresh and also cut down visual effects. Hence, it’s not as user-friendly as the first hack.
Step #1. Open Settings app on your iOS device.
Step #2. Now, scroll down and tap on Battery.
Step #3. Next, turn on the switch next to Low Power Mode.
Over to you
So, that’s you can inactivate Apple’s virtual assistant without having to go through lengthy steps to re-enable it. Have any question? We always welcome your thoughts; therefore feel free to let it come across.
