New icons have been found in the just released update of iOS 11.2.5. They have disclosed some of the functionality that may come with the release of the elusive HomePod in upcoming weeks. Users are allowed to make custom scenes with support for muting the speaker’s “Hey Siri” capabilities.
Filipe Esposito discovered an image that was hidden among Apple’s Home App assets that comprises icons which proposed it will be possible to mute Siri glyph.
It has still not been mentioned by Apple if HomePod can support more than one user, but it is the belief of Esposito that there are references that show the speaker will differentiate between different voices to service multiple accounts.
He further said that existing assets show support for joining two HomePods for stereo sounds, or using two or more HomePods to concurrently stream music using Apple’s AirPlay 2 wireless streaming protocol.
Apple’s HomePod was originally announced in June 2017 at Worldwide Developers Conference, where it recorded the speaker’s advanced spatial awareness which sensibly adjusts to the surroundings to convey the best possible sound.
